Fraser Timber Supply Area (TSA)

The Fraser TSA is situated in the southwest corner of B.C.  It covers approximately 1.4 million hectares and includes the communities of Boston Bar, Hope, Yale, Chilliwack as well as those communities within Metro Vancouver.  The TSA is administered from the Chilliwack District office in Chilliwack.

Current Timber Supply Review (TSR)

The current AAC for the Fraser TSA is 1,270,000 cubic metres.  In July 2008, the chief forester postponed the next AAC determination to a date prior to August 1, 2014.

Section 8 (3.1) Postponement Order

The Forest Act — Section 8 (3.1) permits the chief forester to consider a postponement of the allowable annual cut to a date that is up to 10 years after the last determination, if the chief forester determines that the AAC is not likely to be changed significantly with a new determination.
