Supply Area (TSA) |

The Okanagan TSA
is located in south-central British Columbia and covers
approximately 2.25 million hectares of the Thompson/Okanagan Region.
The TSA stretches from the Seymour River/Shuswap Lake in the north
to the Canada-United States border in the south, and from the
Monashee Mountains in the east to the Okanagan Mountains in the
west.
The TSA includes the communities of Penticton, Vernon, Kelowna and Salmon Arm.
The Okanagan timber supply area is administered by the
Okanagan Shuswap District,
located in Vernon, with field offices in Penticton and Salmon Arm.
Current Timber Supply Review (TSR)
The current allowable annual cut (AAC) for the Okanagan TSA is
3,375,000 cubic metres, effective January 1, 2006. This AAC will
remain in effect until a new AAC is determined, which must take place
within 10 years of the date of the present determination, unless the
re–determination date is formally postponed according to the provisions
of Section 8 of the
Forest Act.
Public input is a vital part of the timber supply review process.
A public discussion paper was released on
August 4, 2011. Feedback is welcome on any
aspect of this public discussion paper or any other issues related to the timber supply review for
the Okanagan TSA.
