Morice Timber
Supply Area (TSA) |

The Morice TSA is situated on the western edge of British Columbia's
central interior plateau and covers approximately
1.5 million hectares of the Northern Interior Region. The
TSA extends from the most northerly tip of Babine Lake in the north to Ootsa and Whitesail lakes in the south.
The TSA is administered by the
Nadina District in Burns Lake.
The main community in the Morice TSA is Houston, the remainder of the
population lives in smaller communities such as Topley and Granisle, or
on the many ranches and farms along the Highway 16 corridor and in the
area from Owen Lake to Francois Lake.
Current Timber Supply Review (TSR)
The current allowable annual cut (AAC) for the Morice timber supply
area is 2,165,000 cubic metres, effective February 1, 2008.
This AAC will remain in effect until a new AAC is determined, which
must take place within 10 years of this determination, unless
postponed in accordance with Section 8(3.1) of the
Forest Act.
