 Golden
Timber Supply Area
The Golden TSA is located in southeastern B.C. and comprises about
902 000 hectares. The town of Golden is the major community
within the TSA.
The current AAC for the TSA is 485 000 cubic metres,
effective June 1, 2004. This AAC will remain in effect until a
new AAC is determined, which must take place within five years of this
determination, unless the re-determination date is formally
postponed according to the provisions of Section 8 of the Forest
Act.
Current Timber Supply Review
The third timber supply review (TSR 3) was initiated in 2002 and
was completed by the Ministry of Forests. A key component of
the TSR is the preparation of a timber supply analysis. In
August 2003, the
Golden TSA analysis report and discussion paper were
released for public review. The Chief Forester's rationale for
AAC determination was released on
May 27, 2004.
A description and full copies of the relevant documents released for
the Golden timber supply review can be found on the 'Documents' site.
