The Tree Seed Centre
provides a variety of information services
to clients, such as seedlot test
results, request status, seed processing
and preparation method improvement information.
We also provide technical advice, handout
material, workshops and presentations,
and help in developing regulations,
policies, and guidelines.
Workshop topics include:
cone collection; seed testing, preparation
and processing; seed health management;

Cone and Seed Processing System -
CONSEP
The TSC is responsible
for maintaining a register of seedlots
for Crown land reforestation. This register
is maintained on SPAR, and records seedlot ownership,
origin, quantity, quality, testing results,
history of use, and seedling potential.
The TSC also enters all cone and seed
processing, testing, sales/transfers
and direct withdrawal requests onto
SPAR. These requests are then downloaded
to our local cone and seed processing
system (CONSEP). Staff enter results
and observations against the requests
during production, with key status and
result information uploaded to SPAR
and available for client viewing on
the Request Activity Status screen.
Communication between SPAR and CONSEP
occurs nightly. A list of service request
types is shown below.
