What's
new in SPAR - April 2008 
SPAR and SeedMap both had new releases put into Production in April 2008. There were some minor enhancements and bug fixes included in the releases for both SPAR and SeedMap.
SPAR - Release 04.03.01:
- Seedlot Extract and Vegetative Lot Extract - data columns re-arranged into a more logical order. Some column header names changed to indicate if the geographic data (Latitude, Longitude, Elevation, SPZ) is for the Collection Source or the Area of Use. See attached Excel file "Extracts.xls" for list of columns.
- Suitable Seedlot/Vegetative Lot Search - will now bring up the list of lots if the BGC zone/subzone/variant does not match the spatial data.
- Seedlot Registration - for Class A lots where non-orchard pollen is present, Copy Non-Orchard Pollen % has been added to the Parent Tree Contribution screen.
- Seedlot Registration - verification of dates for Extraction From and To added.
- Seedlot Registration - for Class B lots, add functionality to automatically check maximum range allowed between minimum and maximum collection elevations.
- Seedling Request Nursery Assignment - fix to Update UserID and Timestamp.
- Seedling Request - update of COM status requests by Tree Improvement Branch staff is now possible for the purpose of correcting specific data fields - eg. deletion of the Opening data from a request.
- Seedling Request - fix to allow entry of requests for stocktypes BUW or BUC without requiring nursery or container type.
- Seedlot Registration - Adobe PDF Report - correct Orchard comment length.
- SPAR Summary Reports Submission - bug fix to Management Unit Type/ID filter.
- Seed Planning Report 1 - bug fix to Seed Planning Zone filters.
- TSC Client Contact Details screen - add UserID and Timestamp info.
SeedMap - Release 3.3.2
- Update of IMF Layer Configuration File to correspond with the changes in MapView 5.0.0.
- Fix BioGeoClimatic Zone and Silviculture (RESULTS) layers.
- Add Forest Tenure (FTA), Vegetation, Other Vegetation and Research layers from the MapView service.
- Add new Tool - Identify Radius tool (useful for checking elevations in Seedlot Registration of Class B seedlots).
- Add new Tool - Identify All Seed Planning Zones (used to indicate what the Natural Stand and GRM SPZs at a particular site).
- Identify Visible / Drill Down Identify Tool - trim down the number of layers queried - eg. transportation and water are not longer displayed.
- Layers for Fdc and Fdi under Seed Plan Zones - GRM have been separated into distinct datasets and layers.
- Layer for Parks (under Admin Boundaries) does not default to being 'on'.
- Under the 'Query' menu tab, the Show Seed Use functionality is currently unavailable. The Show Seed Source / Zoom to Seed Source is still working. The Show Seed Use requires the addition of seedlot to the 'Opening with Planting BVI layer' before the functionality can be restored.
