Tree Seed Working Group Workshop

The Tree Seed Working Group began in 1983 with four objectives on promoting tree seed science and technology through:

  1. Seed research from bud initiation to seed utilization;
  2. Identification of seed problems relating to tree improvement and forest management;
  3. Exchange of information on seed related problems; and
  4. Advising on implementation practices
The theme of the 2004 workshop is 'Quality Assurance in the Seed Handling System" and I am very grateful to the following speakers for agreeing to participate in this workshop. I will be encouraging dialogue and participation at this workshop - be prepared to share your experiences! Two additional speakers have also volunteered to present material on seed moisture content: George Edwards and Conor O'Reilly.

I'm looking forward to the workshop, seeing familiar faces and meeting new faces interested in tree seed science. See you in Kelowna!!
