The three replications of the STEMS experiment are located in the Sayward Landscape Unit of the Campbell River Forest District on Vancouver Island, B.C.

• STEMS 1 is located in the Snowden Demonstration Forest
• STEMS 2 near Elk Bay, and
• STEMS 3 near Gray Lake
