E.P. 384/385 - Thinning experiments in lodgepole pine, Canal Flats
- Objectives:
- To determine the effects of thinning on the growth and development of lodgepole pine.
- This trial was established in 1952/53 in a predominately even-aged lodgepole pine stand, that regenerated naturally after a fire in 1895, on a MSdk/01(05) site, northeast of Canal Flats in the Invermere Forest District. Two replicates of six levels of thinning were tested. The twelve permanent sample plots have been remeasured on roughly a five-year schedule for the life of the study.
