The old growth stand was clearcut in early 1991. A broadcast burn of uniform coverage and moderate intensity occurred during the fall of 1991. The following July a mixture of one and two year old container Picea glauca (Moench) x engelmannii Parry (hybrid spruce) (PSB 415D) were planted.
The old growth stand consisted predominately of Tsuga heterophylla (Raf.) Sarg. and Tsuga plicata Donn. After clearcutting and broadcast burning, a mixed-shrub community was established dominated by Epilobium angustifolium L., Rubus parviflorus Nutt. and R. idaeus.
