Description

EcoPrep includes three “programs”:

1. A set of ArcInfo AMLs to generate the overlay database called ‘the matrix.’
2. The ‘MatrixSummary’ program to create the EcoPrep GIS input database required by EcoNGen. MatrixSummary inputs ‘the matrix’ and then calculates various summaries for attributes used in the knowledge tables.
3. The ‘SSORT’ program to create additional site series and order tables required by EcoNGen.

Software Requirements

The EcoPrep programs require ArcInfo, SELES, and Microsoft ACCESS. One of the AMLs can be run faster in Oracle. The ArcInfo AMLs output to a dBase file which is then imported into ACCESS for input into the EcoNGen.

Installation

After downloading the zip files, follow the instructions in the ‘readme’ or ‘help’ files with each program. The programs are not ‘installed,’ but are used with ArcInfo or ACCESS.

Documentation and Sample Database

Readme or help files are contained in each zip file describing how to run. In some cases, a sample database is available.
