Growth and Yield Computer-Based Training (CBT)
- Description
- An interactive computer program for learning basic growth and yield
concepts. This version includes the modules of: Tree Growth, Stand Development
and Site Productivity. The program caters to a range of learning styles and
learner needs and it features:
- graphics, animation, on-screen text, and user interactivity
- optional self-testing of material covered in each module
- glossary of growth and yield terms
- session saving and tracking
- shortcuts for repeat users
The content for this program was provided by the Growth and Yield Program of
the British Columbia Ministry of Forests and it was developed by Cortex
Consultants Inc., Halfmoon Bay, British Columbia.
- Audience
- Resource management professionals applying growth and yield within the
subdisciplines of silviculture, inventory and planning. It is also
recommended pre-reading for the courses: Introduction to TIPSY, Introduction to
VDYP and SIBC Module III "Forest and Stand Development".
- System Requirements
- To use this program the minimum requirements are: an IBM-compatible 386
computer or better, 4 megabytes RAM (8 recommended), 12 megabytes free
disk space, MS Windows 3.1, a VGA monitor and video card set
at 640x480 resolution with a minimum of 16 colours and a mouse or other
compatible pointing device.
