Subzone/Variant Maps at the Forest-District Scale

Two series of district-scale maps in PDF format are available for each of the Forest Districts. Most maps are at a scale of 1:250,000. Some are at a scale of 1:300,000. Some of the Forest Districts are covered by more than one mapsheet.

  • Field MapsThis series of maps is designed for field applications where a detailed base map is required. The maps show the Biogeoclimatic Units (Zone, Subzone and Variant and Phase if applicable) and a full NTS 1:250,000 base including contours with 100 meter intervals. These files are large and range in size from (7-45Mb).
  • Wall Maps This series of maps is designed to be an aesthetically pleasing portrayal of the Biogeoclimatic Units (Zone, Subzone and Variant and Phase if applicable) in a Forest District. They have a simplified base map and are portrayed on a shaded relief background. These files range in size from (5-15Mb).
