Data Management Plan


Definition

The Data Management Plan describes the scope and business drivers for the data (dataset), the dependencies, information products, data custodianship, applicable data standards, quality of the data, access to the data, any issues and plans or resources to address issues or make changes to the data.  Ideally there would already be a data management plan in existence before a systems development project starts.
