FSP Training for First Time Users
The following training options are available for first time users (or those who
took training a while ago) wanting to obtain knowledge and/or build hands-on
skills in using the FSP Tracking System.
1. Review System Overview
Reviewing the
FSP Tracking System Primer will provide you with an overview of
how the FSP Tracking System supports the business.
Once you have read the Primer, you should consider taking
classroom training and/or
self-study training.
2. Take Training—Classroom or self-study training
A classroom training session on the FSP Tracking System may already be
scheduled. To check, view the training catalogue on the
MoFR Learning Store by
selecting “Course Registration” in the left navigation bar of this webpage.
Enter “FSP Tracking System” in the keyword section of the website. Review the
course descriptions and select training if scheduled and applicable.
If training is not currently offered, please consider the self-study options
listed below and/or contacting your supervisor to request a classroom session.
OR
Several self-study training options are provided to assist you acquire the
necessary knowledge and skills to use the FSP Tracking System. The options
include the following:
- Review the Quick Reference Cards—download and review the quick reference
cards for the applicable processes—“submitting and FSP or amendment”; “reviewing
and/or approved an FSP”; “loading a paper-based FSP”; “FSP navigation”
(including viewing an approved FSP). More information is available under the
Quick Reference Card link in the left navigation bar.
- View Recorded Training (optional)—an alternative to viewing the application
demo is to view a recording of a previously delivered online classroom session.
Two recordings are available—“Using the FSP Tracking System” for viewing by most
new users and “Loading Paper-based FSP Submissions” for those MoFR users tasked
with loading paper-based submissions into the FSP Tracking System.
Recordings are available in the section labelled Obtain training materials.
NOTE: the participant materials for the training sessions are comprehensive
business/application documents that also serve as a good training and reference
source. You may wish to download and view these materials as well.
- Complete Activities—download and complete the activities for the desired
process—“submitting and FSP or amendment”; “reviewing and/or approved an FSP”;
“loading a paper-based FSP”. The activities provide hands-on skills in using the
application (in the MoFR test environment) to prepare and submit an FSP and
amendment. Download and unzip the file containing instructions and data to
conduct the activity.

To obtain general information on the FSP Tracking System, you should consider
the following reference and support tools—listed in order of increasing detail.

- User Guide—containing information on the business process and rules along with
tips and examples. This information is linked to the Administrative Guide for FSPs (AGFSP).

Questions and Answers—listing answers to frequently asked questions from other
users. Once on the “Questions & Answers” webpage, click on the link labelled
“General FSP questions” to find questions and answers of a general nature. Use
the link labelled “Click to Add Your Question” to ask a new question.
