Data Custodian As a data custodian for the Ministry of Forests and Range, the branch director has ultimate, province-wide ACCOUNTABILITY FOR BUSINESS STANDARDS relating to data within his/her mandate, and is responsible for ensuring the ministry gains maximum value from that information. This position establishes province-wide policy, definitions and rules for business information (data). At Branch:

Data Resource Manager The district manager/regional manager has ultimate ACCOUNTABILITY FOR DATA COLLECTION. This position ensures corporate data collection and management is done properly and meets the relevant Data Custodian's standards, to enable effective business decisions. At District/Region/

Data Standards Manager This branch manager/senior branch position has DELEGATED RESPONSIBILITY from the data custodian and is the custodian's single point of contact for DEVELOPING AND APPROVING DATA STANDARDS RELATING TO BUSINESS within their mandate. This position is also delegated responsibility for developing business standards, as set out by the Data Custodian. At Branch:

Data Standards Specialist This position almost always works with DATA STANDARDS. This position must understand the business relevance of the data standards within their scope of work, and must appreciate the importance and impact of the data standards as established by the Data Custodian. Data Resource Specialist This position almost always works with DATA. This position must understand THE BUSINESS RELEVANCE OF THE DATA within their scope of work, and must appreciate the importance and impact of the data as established by the Data Custodian. At District/Region:
