Learning Objectives
In this lesson, participants will:
- learn the role wind damage plays in BC's forests and the impacts it
can have on integrated resource management prescriptions
- become familiar with the mechanics of windthrow
- know the three broad approaches to windthrow risk assessment
- know the environmental factors that contribute to biophysical
hazard for windthrow
- know how these environmental factors can be assessed to evaluate
relative biophysical hazard for windthrow.
