During Phase II of the Streamlining Project, the Streamlining Project Teams developed fifteen proposals to improve forestry information management. These proposals were made available for review in April/May 2005, and were modified based on the feedback received. The final versions of the proposals are presented below along with presentations and final reports which provide more explanation of the proposals.

During Phase III of the Streamlining Project, all proposals will be communicated to the appropriate branch or team. Each branch or team will be responsible for addressing the proposals.

1. Submit Forest Stewardship Plans (FSPs) in an electronic format to expedite approval, enable status tracking, and provide C&E and Stewardship with access to FSP information.
   
   
2. Enable bundling of the appraisal and cutting permit application in a single electronic submission.
   
   
3. Bundle RESULTS reporting for more efficient electronic submission.
   
   
4. Integrate mapping standards across business areas.

1. Implement corporately consistent road permitting process flows.
   
   
2. Standardize road naming protocols.
   
   
3. Bundle the road permit application and road-related appraisal information.
   
   
4. Separate the road tenure from the timber mark.
   
   
5. Allow the tenure for a road permit to cross boundaries of overarching licences for a single licensee.

1. Develop a "Forest Information Mall" to provide operational staff with one-stop shopping for the information and systems they need to do their jobs.
   
   
2. Provide district, regional, and licensee staff with consolidated access to spatial information that is currently in many silos.
   
   
3. Core spatial information that is the foundation to many different business areas should be consolidated, shared, and updated accordingly.
   
   
4. Consolidate user access protocols for both systems and information.
   
   
5. Prioritize data clean-up, and ensure there is an integrated cross-ministry data custodianship structure for forest information to support data quality improvements.
   
   
6. Developed a provincially consistent electronic process to support notification of harvest and road construction activity.
