Project Update

The Mall is now available on the following server: http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/mof/mall/

There are 4 available Mall views, but only two are enabled at this time:

-          Public (includes licensees - no BCeID required)

-          Government (IDIR required                                                 

For the most part, government and public/licensees have access to the same Mall content with the exception of some content that is viewable by government staff only.

In addition to the Task related views of the Mall, there is also a strong search functionality called the FIM A-Z index. This brings you to a key word search as well as a topic or category listing. If you can't find it through the normal task view, you will find it through these tools.

The Mall is built to be easy to keep up to date and is modular – components and content can be easily added, removed or modified. For example, the Mall’s content is kept on an Excel spreadsheet which each branch content manager will be able to update easily – just by copying new links into the spreadsheet. This will allow each business area to easily keep content fresh and relevant for operational users.

Please keep in mind that this is the first version of the Mall.  Over the next few months we will be working to improve both the content and the functionality of the Mall.
