Tree Species Selection Reference System – A New Web Based Tool providing access to the most up to date research and operational Tree Species Information.

Research and Forest Practices Branch have undertaken this project to enhance and update the current tree species selection guidelines.  The main goal of the project is to consolidate all new and existing scientific and operational tree species selection information into an easily accessible database format.

Next Steps:

  • Formalize communication plan (email distribution list and web update process), review process and extension plan. Note this website will be used as the primary mode of communication, the email distribution list will be used to notify recipients of major project updates and new web postings.
     

  • Continue with the functional development of the Tree Species B.C website and the uploading of existing and new tree species information.
     
  • Conduct a literature review of existing tree species documentation and related research information to populate the tree species compendium portion of the website.
