To involve affected agencies, organizations,
stakeholders and First Nations in the development of silviculture legislation,
policy frameworks and programs, and to build a shared understanding of the
implementation options, benefits, costs and risks,
three regional Silviculture Discussion Paper
Focus Group Meetings were held in September 2009.
These meetings included ½ day First Nations – Ministry of Forests and
Range sessions, followed by all-day meetings where provincial and local
government, industry and First Nations participants were provided the
opportunity to identify issues and opportunities and to influence implementation
of a new silviculture framework for BC.
