Preventing or Reducing Further Damage
By focusing on early detection and removal of infested “green attack” trees,
it’s feasible to limit damage in mature pine forests that are susceptible but
not yet experiencing epidemic infestations. Particularly near the outer edges of the epidemic, where close monitoring and
aggressive control actions may prevent spread.
