(1) - Diseases other than foliage diseases are very difficult to accurately map using aerial overview style surveys.  The totals presented here are not an accurate depiction of dwarf mistletoe and root disease incidence in the province.  More accurate data is obtained using ground surveys.

85% of the Provincial land base was surveyed.  Areas not flown in this year's survey included portions of the Mackenzie, Fort Nelson, Vancouver Island, Mid-Coast, Haida Gwaii, Ft St James and Cassiar areas due to weather and resource constraints.  

(2) Fire data was collected by the overview survey and augmented, where available, with data provided by MFR Protection Branch.
