(1) - Diseases other than foliage diseases are very difficult to accurately map using aerial overview style surveys.  The totals presented here are not an accurate depiction of dwarf mistletoe and root disease incidence in the province.  More accurate data is obtained using ground surveys.

A large proportion of the province was covered by the aerial overview survey in 2001.  Only a small number of districts in (part of North Coast, portions of the Cassiar, South Island FD, Campbell River FD) were not flown due to a known lack of activity, limited time, poor weather and lack of funding.  Operational data was included in this summary only from  Ft. Nelson Forest District, the southern third of the Lakes FD and all of Cariboo Forest Region.
