Gypsy Moth Trapping Results in 2008

In the summer of 2008, 33 male moths were caught in 20 pheromone traps at the following 17 locations in southern B.C.   Click on the images to view a larger version.

All maps were supplied by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Lower Mainland

Kent/Harrison Area16 moths in 5 traps (@ 16 traps/sq. mi.); 100 egg masses were located near the trap with 11 males.  The increasing moth catches and evidence of a second life stage triggered treatment plans.

Vancouver (2)/Burnaby(1)/Richmond(2)/Delta(3): 8 moths in 6 traps (@ 16 traps/sq. mi. and 1 trap/sq. mi.)

Chilliwack: 1 moth in 1 trap (@ 1 trap/sq. mi.)

 

Langley (2 moths) in 2 traps (@ 16 traps/sq. mi.)

South Surrey/White Rock: 3 moths in 3 traps (@ 16 traps/sq. mi.)

Victoria: 2 moths = 2 in 2 traps (@ 16 traps/sq. mi.)

Southern Interior

Creston: 1 moth  (@ 1 traps/sq. mi.)
