Gypsy Moth Treatment Operations in British Columbia
May, 2004
The results of the 2003
Canadian Food Inspection Agency pheromone trapping program revealed a significant increase in gypsy moth
activity and distribution in British Columbia in the Lower Mainland
and on Southern Vancouver Island. Egg masses were also located
at two locations - North Delta and Gordon Head (Saanich) - and
indicate that gypsy moth populations were reproducing and required
eradication efforts to prevent establishment. The precise
location and other details on the eradication projects are available on the
2004
Treatment Area page.
The following is a detailed description
of the treatments that occurred during the spring of 2004.
