Gypsy Moth Trapping Results in 2003

Results of Canadian Food Inspection Agency's Annual Monitoring

100 male moths were caught in pheromone traps in the following locations in the summer of 2003.  High density grid trapping (trap density 9/acre (5760/sq.mi.), inter-trap distance 70 ft) caught moths in both North Delta and Gordon Head (Saanich), B.C..   Egg masses were also found at these two locations.  Trapping at other locations occurred at lower densities.
