Victoria

Blocks A-1 & B-1

Last spray completed on  Wed, June 9th, 1999

Two moths were caught in the summer of '99.  Trapping will continue in 2000.

The 1st spray was completed on May 10th. The 2nd spray was partially completed on Thursday MAY 20th and the remaining 5 lines were completed on May 21st.   A single diagonal line from Langford Lake to Goldstream   was also completed.  Parts of A-1 and A-2 around Goldstream, Cole Ck. Valley required a touch up spray.  The 3rd spray was completed successfully on Wed. June 9th.
Block A-2  & B-2

Last spray completed on Tues, June 8th with touch-up sprays completed on Wed. June 9th., 1999. 

The 1st spray was completed on May 9th.  The 2nd spray was  completed on Wednesday May 19th. A touch up spray was done on Friday May 21st.  The start of the 3rd spray was rain delayed on Monday, June 7th. The 3rd spray was completed on June 8th.  One extra line was added over the Helmecken Rd. area which is normally included in B-1.  Touch-ups in the Langford Lake and Cole Ck. area were completed on Wed. June 9th.

Brentwood

Last spray was completed on Tues., June 8th, 1999

No moths were caught in the summer of '99.   Trapping will continue in 2000.

The 1st spray was completed on May 9th.  The 2nd spray began on Wednesday May 19th but only completed half of the area. Spraying will resume on Thursday May 20th. The 3rd spray was  completed on Tues., June 8th. 

Duncan

Last spray was completed on Wed., June 9th, 1999

One moth  was caught in the summer of '99.  Trapping will continue in 2000.

The 1st spray was completed on Monday May 10th. The 2nd spray was originally planned for Friday May 21st but was moved up to the 20th due to a rain in Nanaimo. The 3rd spray was completed on June 9th.

Nanaimo

Last spray was completed on Wed., June 9th, 1999

No moths were caught in the summer of '99.   Trapping will continue in 2000.

The 1st spray was completed on  Monday May 10th. The 2nd spray was completed on  for Friday May 21st following the completion of Duncan. The 3rd spray was completed on June 9th.

Tsawwassen

Last spray was completed on Thurs., June 10th, 1999

No moths were caught in the summer of '99.  Trapping will continue in 2000.

On May 7th, a 51 ha block (incorporating a small strip of unoccupied crown land and Tsawwassen Indian Band land) on the mainland was added to the spray operation.  The 1st spray was completed on Tuesday May 11th. The 2nd spray was completed on Friday May 21st.  The 3rd spray was completed at 5:19 a.m. on June 10th.  

We would like to thank the CFAX (AM 1070), AM900, & CBC - Victoria, and in Duncan, CKAY, for providing us the opportunity to deliver live local radio updates beginning at 5 AM on each spray morning.  We would also like to thank all other media outlets for providing timely and accurate information on this spray program to the public.
