SETTING THE COURSE

Invitation to Meeting

Dunsmuir Lodge, Victoria BC
November 9-10, 2005

The Ministry of Forests and Range extends an invitation to you to attend and participate in a meeting on "Forests for Tomorrow - Setting the Course" from noon on November 9 to 4:00 pm on November 10. The agenda for the two days is below.

The purpose of the meeting is to consolidate what we know and include stakeholder perspectives in setting the course for the FFT program for 2006/07 and onwards.

Objectives include:

Teambuilding
Inform participants of key aspects of the FFT program-goals, objectives, strategies
Receive stakeholder perspectives and input
Address program planning in four themes

The themes being addressed are:

Landscape level integration of strategic reforestation
Knowledge support function (research, effectiveness, adaptive management)
First Nations and Communities involvement
Delivery Model and Implementation Issues

The intended audience is FFT and involved government agency staff and other participants and speakers with knowledge and perspectives that could influence the program development and delivery.

Participants are invited to join their colleagues for a complementary luncheon both days and dinner on November 9. A block of rooms has been reserved at Dunsmuir Lodge at a government rate of $86 per night, which includes breakfast. Reservations can be made by email at: reservations@dunsmsuirlodge.com. This block of rooms will only be held until October 26, so please book early. Other accommodations in the area include:
