Monitoring of Forest Fertilization

FFT is planning a monitoring protocol that

is systematic - random
accounts for growth prior to fertilization
accounts for differences among BEC (biogeoclimatic) attributes
requires an untreated area (either on the same polygon or on another polygon with the same BEC attributes)
accounts for growth after fertilization
has statistical rigor
relies on many small samples (plots) rather than many large samples (plots)
provides the first report in four but possibly three years
has a relatively low cost per data plot

The details are being developed by the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Northern British Columbia.
