Abstract
A Special Gift booklet is used to teach young children how to start growing Douglas-fir trees from seeds.
This illustrated children’s book follows the story of Jamie who visits the forest with his father, to find a special gift - a Douglas fir cone. The story gives directions on how to find, plant, and successfully germinate a Douglas fir seed, and also illustrates the life cycle of a tree.
