Abstract
Biophysical and recreational features are described for 14 ecosections that occur partially or completely in the Kootenay-Boundary Region of southeastern British Columbia. These ecosections are part of seven ecoregions and two ecoprovinces. Biophysical descriptions summarize bedrock geology, landforms, and climate; common elevational sequences of biogeoclimatic zones; and wildlife species associated with different vegetation zones or specific habitats that occur within or between zones. Recreational descriptions highlight major outdoor activities and additional physiographic features of interest to people.
