Noxious Weeds - SHATTERING THE ENVIRONMENT
Weeds are both an ecological and an economic problem. They are spread mainly by humans, and thereafter by wind, water, livestock, and wildlife.
These aggressive weeds can out-compete crops and native vegetation. The resulting monocultures reduce crop and recreational values, decrease native vegetation (and therefore forage for wildlife and livestock), ruin biodiversity, and damage the ecosystem as a whole. Their encroachment is furthered by abuse of the land. It is our responsibility to learn about and to identify these weeds and to properly manage our resources.
