Abstract
Streamside leave strips of varying ages and vegetational compositions were observed in 59 watersheds on Vancouver Island. Observations were made to determine the factors which caused blowdown or contributed to windfirmness in these leave strips. These observations were compared to the findings of blowdown studies in other areas. A summary of the factors which were observed to contribute to blowdown on Vancouver Island is included.
