Abstract

The objective of this project was to gather and annotate the literature relevant to interactions between trees and snow. The snow literature is characterized by being widely dispersed in journals of several disciplines and by being directly relevant primarily to particular hydrological, meteorological, ecological, or forestry concerns. A key to this literature is needed to facilitate current research on the production of winter range for black-tailed deer and Roosevelt elk in the deep snow areas on Vancouver Island. The material collated is also applicable to snow-related research throughout British Columbia.
