Abstract
The objective of this project was to gather and annotate the literature relevant to interactions between snow and animals. Important information is widely dispersed in journals of several disciplines, often as incidental observations. A key to this literature is needed to facilitate current research on the production of winter range for black-tailed deer and Roosevelt elk in areas of deep snow on Vancouver Island. The material collated is also relevant to other wildlife species in other areas of the province.
