Abstract

In 1986, 12 permanent plots were located on a logged block in the Bush River drainage near Golden, British Columbia, in four different treatments: glyphosate; manual; 2, 4-D amine; and control. These plots were resample in 1994 for percent cover, distribution, vigour, modal height, and wildlife use. Data were analyzed (2-way Analysis of Variance and Tukey Test) for plant species, percent cover (total and by strata), five main species, conifers, wildlife forage species, and the berry production. The glyphosate treatment exhibited reduced shrub production, increased conifer percent cover and height, increased herb percent cover, and reduced wildlife forage and berry production.
