Abstract

The Western Hemlock looper geographical information system in British Columbia which was developed by Natural Resources Canada, Forest Insect and Disease Surveys (FIDS) at the Pacific Forestry Centre. By bringing all historical past information into one common database, the system provides a comprehensive, spatially based historical record of western hemlock looper infestations from 1911 to 1994, separated into 14 distinct outbreaks.
