Abstract

An experiment was established in 1970 near McBride Lake, B.C., to assess the survival and growth of three stock types of white spruce (Picea glauca [Moench] Voss) and lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta Dougl. var Latifolia Englem.) at six different planting dates, and thereby to determine if it was possible to extend the planting season to the entire frost-free period.
