Tenures

The term "timber tenure" is commonly used to describe the contract between a company and the government which grants the rights to harvest a specified area or volume of timber. A wide variety of timber tenures are in place, reflecting the diverse objectives for forest use that have been pursued since the early 1900s.

Training, when available, includes information on Forest Tenure Administration (FTA), a Web-based system that simplifies, enhances and streamlines the current process of supporting the Ministry of Forests and Range and Ministry of Agriculture and Lands business requirements. Training on woodlot planning and practices has also been offered through various workshops.
