Forest Health
Forest health factors can impact the growth and yield of stands and forests, influence harvesting and silviculture decisions,
ecology, habitat, recreation opportunities, and many other aspects of forest management. Forest health knowledge is vital
to the successful management of forest resources in BC. The ministry provides information tools to recognize the signs and
symptoms of damage by forest insects, diseases, and biotic disturbances while conducting forest health or silviculture surveys.
Training and materials are designed to encourage new and innovative ways to address forest health issues, and provide a
framework for the development of preventative prescriptions and treatments.
