Engineering/Roads

The primary purpose of the Engineering Section is to establish provincial engineering standards and processes that ensure forest transportation and harvesting systems are designed, built, maintained, deactivated and administered in a safe and effective manner. It:

  • Develops engineering standards of practice for the forest industry
  • Develops and recommends legislative changes, policies, and procedures, and
  • Provides executive advice, reports, and analyses.

The Real Estate Operations section provides exclusive, centralized provincial administration of the Ministry of Forests’ property and right-of-way acquisition, real estate operations, and property management and support including lease negotiation and administration. The real estate section staff is the Ministry’s experts in all matters relating to the acquisition, lease and management of property used for operational requirements.
