Compliance and Enforcement (C&E)
Compliance and Enforcement (C&E) is the law enforcement arm of the Ministry of Forests and Range.
C&E staff conducts thousands of inspections a year to assess compliance with forest laws. Where there is
evidence of a contravention, an investigation is conducted, which may lead to the issuance of a violation ticket, penalty
or other enforcement action. The most serious forest crimes are prosecuted through the court system.
Training in Compliance and Enforcement (C&E) includes basic law, conducting investigations and interviews, as well as
search and seizure, and surveillance.
