EFP Support Strategy
Ministry of Forests. 1999. [Report]. Forestry Division Services Branch. 32p.
Upon completion of the Training Needs Assessment and Evaluation in 1999, the Ministry
of Forests developed a strategy for supporting Forest Renewal BC's Enhanced Forestry
Program. This EFP Support Strategy (1999-2002) updates the initial strategy developed in
1997.
The purpose of the EFP Support Strategy is to:
- ensure the development of effective information, training, and tools that support the
needs of EFP participants;
- define a process for supporting EFP participants; and
- define an infrastructure that can expand and contract to reflect the demand from
participants and the supply of resources.
This strategy describes how the MOF can best support Forest Renewal BC's Enhanced
Forestry Program. The Ministry can do this by designing, developing, and implementing
support materials such as information, training, and tools that address:
- the knowledge and skills requirements of EFP participants, as identified in the EFP
Needs Assessment Report and EFP Evaluation Report;
- preferences of EFP participants for receiving information and training, as identified in
the EFP Needs Assessment Report; and
- reasons that may prevent participants from taking training.
