Enhanced Forestry
Program Training Evaluation
Ministry of Forests. 1999. [Report] Forestry Division Services Branch. Victoria, B.C.
28 pp.
In 1999, the Ministry of Forests assessed the extent to which its training program for
the Enhanced Forestry Program met identified training needs. The evaluation consisted of
two components:
A program evaluation reviewed the existing training program against the knowledge and
skill requirements identified in the EFP Needs Assessment Survey; and
Course evaluations assessed courses in the training program for applicability and
effectiveness.
The program evaluation found that many of the knowledge and skill requirements
identified in the EFP Needs Assessment are met by existing EFP courses.
The evaluation report identified a number of knowledge and skills requirements which
were not fully addressed by existing courses, and provided direction for future work to
improve the program and courses.
The course evaluation found that while individual EFP courses were well designed, there
is room for more integration and focus on EFP activities.
