Program Support
The Ministry of Forests provides key forest management knowledge to help those who
implement the Enhanced Forestry Program (EFP). These knowledge resources include planning
and priorities information, reports, short courses, workshops, and other extension tools.
In 1998/99 the Ministry of Forests conducted a three-part study to determine how best
to meet the knowledge requirements of the professional and technical staff who plan,
implement and monitor the EFP. This study consisted of a training needs assessment, an
evaluation of existing courses, and a support strategy.
The results of the EFP needs assessment were used with the results of the evaluation to
update the Ministry's support strategy for the EFP. The support strategy identifies the
planning, knowledge, and training that the Ministry of Forests should be supplying for
effective EFP program delivery.
This Website contains the EFP Needs Assessment Report,
