British Columbia's ADM Resource Stewardship Division & Chief Forester
Jim Snetsinger, RPF, was appointed by Order in Council in 2004, as, the 15th Chief Forester of British Columbia.
The Assistant Deputy Minister for the Resource Stewardship Division of the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations is also the province’s Chief Forester. The ADM provides overall leadership to the division including strategic oversight to the development of resource stewardship policy and practices. Primary responsibilities include:
- allowable annual cut determinations;
- setting policy and standards for forest practices
- setting policy and standards for water sustainability,
- water resource management,
- marine planning
- resource management objectives, and
- genetic resource management
