Tom Ethier was appointed by Order in Council in 2012
The Assistant Deputy Minister for the Resource Stewardship Division of the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations provides overall leadership to the division including strategic oversight to the development of resource stewardship policy and practices. Primary responsibilities include:
- setting policy and standards for forest practices
- setting policy and standards for water sustainability,
- water resource management,
- marine planning
- resource management objectives, and
- genetic resource management
