Forest and land carbon is integral to forests, the Province and the climate. Utilizing innovative methods and an interdisciplinary approach, our team of economists, research scientists, professional foresters, and climate change policy experts are finding ways forest and land carbon can benefit our forests, the Province and the climate. This work applies to all regions of the Province and actively integrates with work undertaken in government, industry and the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations.

Forest Carbon Opportunities in BC

  • Forest Carbon Offset Protocol (FCOP)

    The Government of British Columbia has developed a Forest Carbon Offset Protocol (FCOP) to guide the design, development, quantification and verification of B.C forest carbon offsets from a broad range of forest activities on private and public land in B.C.

  • Lists of Qualified Forest Carbon Project Managers

    The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations recently held a Request For Qualifications to establish lists of qualified forest carbon project managers in order to assist forest carbon project investors with the establishment of forest carbon projects on BC’s forests.
