TABOR MOUNTAIN

Popular year-round playground with many kilometers of roads and trails; zoned for cross-country skiing in northern portion and snowmobiling in southern portion; popular also for hiking, horseback riding and trail bike riding; excellent area viewing from the former Forest Service Lookout site.

SUGARBOWL / VIKING RIDGE TRAIL

A steep loop trail to alpine leading south from parking areas next to Highway 16, about 20 km east of Purden Lake; average hiking time to top of ridge is 4 hours; to peak of Sugarbowl Mountain (1836 m elevation) is 5 hours.
